I thought it was great that a Composite Superman found its way into the Superman set, though it turned out to be the newer version of him. So I decided that, when the set came out, I would turn him into the classic version, Joseph Meach, the one who has the combined powers of the Legion of Super-Heroes. The dial was just fine with a new card naming all the Legionnaires he drew his powers from (though there were still more I wanted to add!). I thought about doing a straight repaint, but then I realized that Meach's "halves" are switched from the later character's.

So I was surprised and quite happy to find that, when held up next to each other, the Collateral Damage LE Dark Knight and the Superman common Superman are pretty much the same height. I used the Dark Knight figure as the base, just cutting off the sections that needed to be replaced. His right leg, up to the belt, his right arm, and the right half of his face come from Superman. I trimmed down the tips of the right half of his cape to turn it into a Superman cape, trimmed down the tabs on his left glove, and turned the batarang into a crystal of Kryptonite (a strategy Meach used with Element Lad's powers in the comics). Some greenstuff to line up the seams and enlarge the back of Batman's head finished it up for painting.
